Yuri Buenaventura (of its true name Yuri Bedoya ) is a Chanteur of Salsa born with Buenaventura (Colombia) in 1961, year when the Russian Cosmonaute Youri Gagarine had been the first man to accomplish a flight in space, the April 12th.
It took the Pseudonyme Buenaventura, large port on the peaceful coast of Colombia, place remained near as of its African roots where one plays a drum, the cununo, which one finds, quasi-identical, with the Mali.
Biography
The father of Yuri, Manual Gift Bedoya, professor of music and theater, transmitted his passion for the culture to him.Yuri grew with the New Yorkean Salsa of the label Fania and the committed song of the Chile enne Violeta Parra, of the Catalan Joan Manuel Serrat and of the Cubain Pablo Milanes.

In a few months, Yuri is one of the singers of Salsa with dimensions of Paris latino, of which the epicentre is a dance hall of Belleville, the Java, old temple of the Musette.
It côtoie Camilo Azuquita, Ernesto “Tito” Puente and the Venezuelan Orlando Poleo, one of the players of Conga S the most respected in the world.
Within the Orquesta Chaworo directed by Orlando Poleo, Yuri crosses a new stage. In July 1996, their concert with the Festival Tempo Latino of Vic-Fezensac remains engraved in the memory of the five thousand spectators who filled the arenas.
It returns then to Colombia to record its first album, Herencia Africana (“African heritage”), in several times, by finding the money step by step. With final, Yuri finds anchylosed Dette S, in impossibility of leaving its disc.
But in Paris, Remy Kolpa Kopoul, of Radio Nova is filled with enthusiasm by the Reprise again of does not leave me Jacques Brel.
Yuri finds an editor then, then a label, leaves its disc in 1996, and enters the History: he becomes the first singer of salsa to obtain a Disque of gold in France.
The second album with the title Palindrome: Yo Soy (“I am”) will be born between Paris, Cali and Puerto Rico. Published in spring 1999, appear in it a Duo with Faudel ( Salsa - Raï ), a participation of the fabulous pianist Papo Lucca, Reprise again S of Elton John, the Mano Negra, Michel Legrand.
In 2001, it composes the original soundtrack of the film My wife… is called Maurice Jean-Marie Poiré with Régis Laspalès and Philippe Chevallier, like Anémone, Martin Lamotte, Virginia Lemoine…
In 2002, it is invited by the group of Rap Cuba in Orishas on the title 300 kg of rap . It will invite them in its turn on its album following on the title Donde Estarás .
In 2003 leaves its third album, Vagabundo , recorded with San Juan: Yuri was surrounded by some of the best musicians of the island: Roberto Roena, leader of the orchestra Appolo Sound, several members of El Gran Combo, of which the Jerry singer Rivetted with the choruses, and a distinguished guest for two Duo S: Cheo Feliciano, one of the mythical voices of the Fania All Stars.
Its ambition is to make an honest music which makes us dance, without being made forget that one must reflect on the reality of the world of today. Semi America with the mission of making known the history of its people, to make hear the word of the poets (with a homage to Pablo Neruda).
