Beginnings of career (1998-2001)

Bingham started by playing of the battery in its church at the 7 years age, then she sang in the choral society of the church. At the 9 years age, a professor of music of his school noticed the voice particulère of Yummy and made it sing in solo with a concert of the school. But Bingham, which was particularly timid when it was a question of singing, started to seriously think of making career only at age the 12 years, when everyone around it ceased wanting to make it sing at all costs.

Bingham wrote and recorded its first demonstration at the 12 years age, in 1998, with his/her father and the cousin of this one, the singer and author Connie McKendrick. During long months, they diffused the demonstration with the professionals. In 2000, the producer KayGee, group Naughty by Nature is then interested by the young singer and sign a contract with it for his label Divine Millet. About at the same time, Supa Dave West, a producer whose his father had been the mentor, comes to find it to record a song with the group Of the Drunk person for the B.O of the film Osmosis Jones, left in 2001. It was the beginning of long series of collaborations, establishing Yummy Bingham as appointed singer of Drunk person.

The individual one became an average tube in the United States. As of October, the song was used in a publicity for the automobile mark Pontiac, giving to individual audience even broader.

The individual following, Is It Good To You , produced by Rockwilder, was originally written for the Destiny's Child but when the title their was proposed, only Beyoncé wanted it, so that Yummy decided to keep the song for its own album. But little time afterwards, Yummy entered in conflict, within its label Muzik Park, with Rockwilder and Randy Parker, its manager and third joint owner of the label.
