Yumi Hotta

Yumi Hotta (, or ゆみほった) is a Scénariste Japan ease of Manga S, born the October 15th 1957 in the Préfecture of Aichi.

Biography

Hotta is known like the author of the Manga to success Hikaru No Go , on the Jeu of Go, which largely took part in the recent boom of this play in Japan. The idea of Hikaru No Go started when Yumi Hotta played play of Go with his/her father-in-law. She thought that it could be amusing to create a manga based on this traditional play, which be in the beginning called Kokonotsu No Hoshi . She worked later with Takeshi Obata (draftsman) and Yukari Umezawa (5th daN, supervisor) in the creation of Hikaru No Go . In 2000, it gained the Price manga Shogakukan and in 2003 the Price Tezuka Award Winners Shinsei (" new espoir") for Hikaru No Go .

The husband of Yumi Hotta is Kiyonari Hotta (堀田清成), another mangaka known for mangas on the horse-races. He is also very known as a contributor with the newspaper Chunichi Shimbun in which he draws under the name of feather Yumi Hotta (ほったゆみ), returning the name of Yumi Hotta known even front Hikaru No Go . Although Yumi Hotta was responsible for the project Hikaru No Go , in the major part of the series Yumi Hotta and Kiyonari Hotta worked together as a husband team and a woman.
