Yudansha

Yudansha wants to say in Japanese “carrying rank”. It is interesting to note that the Masters of Martial arts did not use this type of nomenclature (see Japanese Grades ).

For a practitioner, to become yudansha is the result of a long work; it is however not a result but the beginning of an engagement of the practitioner on the long run.

The Sensei is him, “ahead” on the Way, one of the directions of SEN being this concept of time in advance ( SEN No SEN , tai No SEN , go No SEN , tachi No SEN ).
