Yslaire

Yslaire (Bernard Hislaire, born the January 11th 1957 with Brussels, Belgium) is a scenario writer and a Belgian draftsman of Cartoon.

Biography

Bernard Hislaire was born with Brussels, in Belgium, 1957. Impassioned since its more young age by the cartoon, it produces her first drawings for the fanzine Robidule and works its style with the Institut Saint-Luc of Brussels. In 1975, whereas it is old only 18 years, it joined the graphic team of the Journal of Spirou where it writes a short history in the section dedicated to the young artists. A little later it connects with an account of 16 boards, Third Laron . Consequently, it is supported by the largest scenario writers of the company, in particular Charles Dupuis, Raoul Cauvin and Jean-Marie Brouyère, with which it will carry out several series among which one can quote Coursensac and Baladin . In 1978, it launches its first series, Bidouille and Violette , which will appear in the Newspaper of Spirou. This series will be continued until in 1985 and a certain recognition of the public will confer to him. During this time, it publishes various cartoons for the newspapers Libre Belgique and the illustrated Trombone.

In 1986, after its meeting with the scenario writer Balac, pseudonym of Yann, it launched Sambre, under the name Yslaire. This series, of romantic inspiration, telling the impossible love between Bernard Sambre, a young middle-class man, and Julie, a proletarian, lasting the French revolution of 1848, is original of share its graphic style, different from that used by Hislaire hitherto, as well as the pallet of the colors used, very restricted and centered on the red . The entirety of the series is published by Glénat and is a critical and commercial success. This series is republished in 2003 with a new cover.

In 1997, it surprises its fans by the publication of Introduction to the XXe sky then in 1998 Mémoire of the XXe sky: 98 at Delcourt. This new series is taken again in 2000 thereafter by Humanoïdes Associés, and these two albums recompilés in only one named the XXe ciel.com: Memories 98 . The continuation, Mémoires 99 appears the next year, and, in 2004, Yslaire gratifie this series of two possible ends: Memories <19>00 and Memories <20>00 , with the choice of the reader. Meanwhile, in 2003, it begins a new series, Three virgins .

In 2006, it begins a new diptych: Sky with the top of Brussels with the first volume entitled ''. This album is in the same line, with regard to the narration and the drawing, that those of the cycle XXe sky .
