Your Koopman , born with Zwolle the October 2nd 1944, is a Organiste, Claveciniste and Leader Dutch.

Biography

Your Koopman studies the Musicologie, the Orgue and the Clavecin with the Academy of Amsterdam. It gains an outstanding commendation award in Clavecin and Orgue. Whereas he is yet only one student, Koopman begins the direction from orchestra. It is impassioned of music of, and bases its step of direction on interpretation on instruments of time and a musicologic research aiming at finding the original practices of interpretation of works which it works. In 1969, it creates its first baroque unit then in 1979, the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestrated to which will join in 1993 the Chorus baroque of Amsterdam.

But Your Koopman is not limited to the direction of sound together. It also occurs as a soloist on the most beautiful instruments of the world and directs as a chief invited various orchestras in particular the Chamber orchestra from Lausanne.

Your Koopman also deals with teaching. He is professor with the Royal Academy of $the Hague and member of the Royal Academy of music of London. He is also since 2004, professor with the Université of Leyde.

Principal recordings

Your Koopman recorded an integral of the religious cantatas of Johann Sebastian Bach. These recordings are carried out under the supposed conditions of the time, with the instrumental manpower required by Bach in Entwurff (chorus of twelve singers), on old instruments, or copies, and with the tuning fork baroque (415 Hz instead of 440 Hz). These recordings are appeared at the label Antoine Marchand, distributed by Harmonia Mundi.

He also collaborated rather often with Jordi Savall as a continuist, but also as a soloist, as well with the harpsichord as with the organ (Art of the running away, Bach; Musical offering, Bach; Missa Bruxelensis, Biber; Concertos for viola da gamba, Vivaldi)

Currently, Koopman records all preserved works of Buxtehude. The first six volumes of the " project; Buxtehude Operated Omnia" are already appeared.
