However, if Kubert, not being able to travel towards the United States in 1926, were turned over to Yzeran?

The account

The April 19th 1943, at the second evening of the Passover, begins the insurrection from the ghetto of Warsaw. May 8th, 1943, the Ghetto of Warsaw burns. Yossel, 15 years, ground in the sewers with the last insurrectionists, of which Mordecai. Knowing itself condemned, it tightens its treasures, some sheets of and a pencil, and starts to draw these imaginary heroes that it always drew. When one extasy of such gifts of drawing, that it must surely hold of family, Yossel remembers.

D' Yzeran with the ghetto

The Night of crystal, which it had followed only abstractedly, his/her father Yankel, only the cutter cachère of Yzeran, his/her mother Ecka, her sister Chaya, her comics. Then the Nazis who approach Yzeran, the mother which regrets not having been able to emigrate in America in 1926, the first decrees Antisémite S, whose Yossel does not have cure, until the expropriation of the Kubert family and their deportation in the ghetto of Warsaw, insalubrity and under the permanent German threat. Whereas the parents of Yankel remain " introuvables" , Yossel meets Mordecaï in a room of young people. Time passes, the deportations towards the " camps of travail" start, and the first rumors: they are places of death.

Yossel is noticed for its artistic gifts by the German police force, which saves it deportation with Auschwitz, whereas one sends his family to it. It is fifteen years old and will not re-examine them any more.

Testimony of a sonderkommando

A little later resistance is organized. Whereas the ghetto decays and that the rumors of death continue, Yossel is approached by " a man or what had been a homme" who recognizes it, an survivor of a Death camp. With the revolutionists who do not want to accept this additional fairy tale, the man tells: parked in a train of cattle, it is unloaded while the Sonderkommando S take along the corpses. A German officer carries out the first of long series of Selektionen . Men and women are then separated, tattooed " like animaux" ( sic ), mowed, disinfected, undressed, stripped their clothing and possessions, covered uniforms striped, and parked in hutments of 30 meters out of 8 and 7 height, at a rate of 500 hearts per hutments, without water nor heating and with a bucket for the needs. Subjected to testing work, sometimes without another reason to weaken, with the daily call whatever the time, under-nourished, eliminated as of the least sign from weakness, the men transform themselves into living skeletons, of numbers, in shades " who do not know that they are morts".
L' man, determined to survive, arrives through labor, to point out themselves its Masters and with being named itself sonderkommando. Profiting from some " privilèges" , like capacity to move between the various parts of the camp and of a better treatment than the ordinary prisoners, for " to accommodate new the arrivants" and " to treat under-produits" like the shoes, the hair, the luggage, the brushes, etc, it includes/understands one day that its work solely does not consist in carting the corpses towards pits where they are flarings. It is indeed witness direct of a gazage, following what it must recover on the bodies any valuable article, like the hair and the courrones out of gold, before charging them in the crematoriums. Having repeated debt try many times, it matures a plan of escape slowly, in spite of the tiny chances and the consequences in the event of failure. This one succeeds, and fugitive the, famished one, insulated, find to take refuge only in the ghetto among his/her brothers juifs.
Arrivé at this stage of the account, the man makes known himself like old the Rabbin of Yzeran and reveals in Yossel the fate of his family: his mother and his sister having been directed on the left, i.e. towards the gas chamber, the father of Yossel chose to follow them, in spite of the attempts at his mother to push back it.

The revolt is organized

The council refusing to carry faith to the testimony of the rabbi, Mordecai decides to act and fight. Armed with wire of iron, pipes and metal, the members of its group kill a isolated soldier, make disappear his body and its weapons strip it. During following days, they assassinate some other co. of it constitute an arsenal. Whereas Yossel writes leaflets of call to the revolt at the request of Mordecai, this one teaches him the execution from the rabbi, found and hung by the nazis.
Le following day, Yossel goes like each day to the German command center, where his " is admired; hero of third Reich". It consequently dissimulates occasion two grenades under the table, which explode shortly after its departure, destroying the building and its occupants. The reprisals are not made wait: the April 19th 1943, at the second evening of the Passover, two thousand soldiers German are able in reinforcement at the ghetto in order to liquidate it.

To die in human beings

Contrary to the scorning remarks of the German soldiers, the Jews make the proof that they " have tripe for battre" , putting in failure the first wave of assault. The insurrectionists take along one as of their fallen to the combat and carry out the rites of mourning. In spite of the scenes of horror, they manage to hold head with the German army for one month, at the point to worry the higher command. However, this one decides to set fire to each building, reducing the possibilities of displacement. The insurrectionists, after a last glare, can only flee by the sewers and discover that their road is cut by the bombardments. They cannot any more but " les" to wait, and die in an ultimate confrontation, where they die as a combatant, flarings by a lance-flame. The officer of the group of attack leans on one of the sheets of of Yossel, where it had drawn its heroes, and rejects the page. White.
