Born the March 26th 1952 with Shizuoku, close to Tokyo, Yoshitaka Amano () is a draftsman Japan board who quickly becomes originator of characters after being engaged by the studios of animation Tatsunoko.

Amano works on several series such Gatchaman and Maya the bee.

In 1982, Amano leaves Tatsunoko to found its own independent studio, Ten Productions, where it creates quantity of illustrations of fantastic style Science-fiction and for many English publications, American and Japan eases and gains several prices for the quality of its work. More than one million its art books are sold in Japan and its paintings are exposed to Orleans, New York, Seoul and Brussels. It inter alia designed the characters and the universe of Vampire Hunter D of Hideyuki Kikuchi and illustrated The Sandman: The Dream Hunters , an adaptation of a Japanese legend by the author Neil Gaiman.

In 1984, Amano joins to the scenario writer Mamoru Oshii to create cartoon film Tenshi No Tamago.

In 1986, the video game editor Public garden (then unknown) request with Amano to design the characters of a new handset, Final Fantasy and it accepts. These are the colors watercolours which then give to Final Fantasy a distinctive appearance.

Amano appears in 1998 in the film New Pink Hotel in which he plays the Hiroshi character and puts his talent at the services of projects varied such as the design of costumes for plays.
