Yoshimitsu Ashikaga
Yoshimitsu Ashikaga (, Ashikaga Yoshimitsu ) (September 25th 1358 - May 31st 1408) was the third of the Shoguns Ashikaga with the Japan and reigned of 1368 with 1378.
Life
Yoshimitsu becomes Shogun in the year which follows the death of his/her father the shogun Yoshiakira Ashikaga, died in 1367. In 1378, it makes build its residence in the district Muromachi of the capital of the time, Kyōto, with the result that one refers often today to the shogunat Ashikaga and the half-life effective from the history of Japan by saying “shogunat Muromachi” and “Period Muromachi”.Yoshimitsu links the Courses of North and the South in 1392, putting fine at the period of almost 60 years called Nanboku-chō. That establishes the shogunat Muromachi firmly and removes the capacity of the regional Daimyō .
In 1394, Yoshimitsu is withdrawn and his/her son Yoshimochi becomes the fourth shogun Ashikaga. However, Yoshimitsu continues to maintain the authority on the shogunat until its death in 1408. Its villa becomes the Kinkaku-ji, the Temple of the Gold House.
