Yolande Mukagasana

Rwandan Écrivaine of French language, Yolande Mukagasana was born with the Rwanda in 1954. Nurse anesthetist during nineteen years at the hospital of Kigali, then nurse as a chief of a private dispensary that it had opened in the capital, it was victim, in 1994, of the massacres which devastated its country. She survived the genocide of the Tutsi but lost her three children, her husband, her brother and her sisters. She obtained Belgian nationality in 1999. She published two autobiographical works, whose death does not want to ego , appeared in 1997, and tales. She also has coécrit, with Groupov, the play Rwanda 94 .

With the photographer Alain Kazinierakis, it published a book made up of testimonys of survivors, heading the Wounds of silence .
