Yolanda King

Yolanda Denise King (Montgomery (Alabama), November 17th, 1955 - Santa Monica (California), May 15th, 2007) is a Actrice, auteure and producing American. She is the first child of American black Pasteur Martin Luther King and of his wife Coretta Scott King.

Biography

Born with Montgomery, in Alabama, Yolanda King was an activist for the human rights and also followed the occupation of actress. She was member of the Board of directors of the Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Changes, Incorporated (the memorial of his/her father) and founded the King Center' S Cultural Affairs Program . She also worked with the Cooperation Council of association with nonlucrative goal, Habitat for Humanity International , the purpose of which is to build decent houses the most stripped with. King was graduate of a BA with the honors, of the Smith College but it was also graduate of a Master off Theater of the Université of New York as well as a Doctorat in human letters of the Université of Marywood in Pennsylvania. In 1978, it interpreted Rosa Parks in the film King , based on the life of the father of Yolanda.

Yolanda King died at the 51 years age, on May 15th, 2007. It collapsed on the perron of the house of her brother, Dexter King with Santa Monica, in California, but could not be reanimated. According to its family, the death of Yolanda King is due to a heart failure. A public service in its memory was held with the church Ebenezer Baptist Church Horizons Sanctuary , on May 24th, 2007. King was incinerated.
