Yokosuka

Yokosuka (横須賀市, Yokosuka-shi ) is a city (市, shi ) located on the peninsula of Miura, in the Préfecture of Kanagawa, with the Japan. The city was founded in 1907. Population of the east city of 428.155 inhabitants for a surface of 100.67 km ² (2005).

Yokosuka sheltered an imperial marine base, which left its place to the one of largest the ports soldier, divided between the US Navy and the Japanese Armée.

Dobuita

Dobuita is a district of the Japanese city of Yokosuka, located at the entry of the Baie of Tōkyō, made famous for the Video game Shenmue. This port area was a base of the navy of Japanese war before the Japanese capitulation of 1945. Since then it is a joint base of the US Navy and force of self-defense of Japan. It is currently the operational base of the door conventional plane US Kitty Hawk (CV-63) which will be replaced by the nuclear door plane US George Washington (CVN-73) in 2008.
