Ygal Allon

Ygal Allon (in Hebrew: יגאלאלון) (born the October 10th 1918, dead the February 29th 1980) is a politician Israél IEN of the Achdut Ha' avoda, then workers party.

It occupied the mandates of:

  • Minister for Labor of 1961 with 1967,
  • Deputy Prime Minister of 1967 with 1974,
  • Minister for the integration of the immigrants of 1967 with 1969,
  • Minister for the Education and the Culture of 1969 with 1974,
  • Foreign Minister of 1974 with 1977.

It also temporarily occupied the post of Prime Minister to replace Levi Eshkol deceased in 1969.

During the Israeli-Arab War of 1948, Ygal Allon was ordering of the 3 brigades of the Palmach and took the control of the operations in the East of Galileo between April and May. It would have launched a campaign of psychological warfare threatening the enemy.

He was the architect in 1968 (time or he was Deputy Prime Minister) “Allon plan”, which proposed the end of the Israeli occupation of the the West Bank by negotiating a division of the territories with the Jordan (approximately 30% for Israel, and 70% for Jordan).
