Yew I Were has Rich Man

If I Were has Rich Man is a Chanson of the American musical comedy Fiddler one the Roof ( a violin on the roof ) of Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick, according to a work of Cholem Aleichem (creation with New York in 1964).

(Note:: it is also the English title of the film Ah! if I were rich ) This song gave place to two adaptations in French in 1968, " Ah! if I were riche" (sung by Ivan Rebroff), and " If I had millions" , adapted by Charles Aznavour and sung by Dalida.

The piece re-appears in 1996 with an adaptation of the Rita Mitsouko ( Riche , in Duo with Doc Gynéco), then in 1999 with a version adapted in Ragga and of the words " féminisées" : " Yew I Has Rich Girl" by Saw Lady. This version ragga is in its turn adapted in French by the Duet Big Boss & Winsome with also for title " Ah! if I were riche" (but with words different from the version of Ivan Rebroff). Lastly, this title becomes a enormous tube thanks to the Reprise again of the Duo Gwen Stefani & Eve in 2004: Rich Girl .

The song was parodied under the title If I Were has Midget (Ah! If I were a dwarf) in an emission of Comedy Central, The Man Show , where Jimmy Kimmel played a small character.

The DVD of Spider-Man 2 comprises a Easter egg where the Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina) If I were sings has rich man . Alfred Molina played the part of Tevye in a violin on the roof with Broadway.
