Yesh Gvul (in Hebrew: ישגבול, can be translated into French as well by There is a limit as by There is a border ) is an Israeli association founded into 1982 which aims to promote and support the refusal to be useful in the Israeli army (Tsahal) when this one makes acts considered as aggressions, or engages in actions of repression.

Foundation and objectives of association

Association exists since 1982 and was created following the invasion of the Lebanon by Israel and with the Palestinian Intifada . A petition signed at the time by 3.000 reservists was sent Israeli to the Prime Minister, Menahem Begin and with the Minister for Defense, Ariel Sharon. Number of the signatories passed in martial Cour and some were condemned to custodial sentences for defect of obedience ( sirouv pkouda ).

Association calls upon morals (the Conscientious objection) and the illegality of certain military operations to defend the people who refuse to be useful in the army. The people who refuse to be useful are called Refuzniks . Currently, its main role is to support the soldiers who " refuse to obey orders considered as being of nature répressive" . Association also promotes political activities such as information campaigns in favor of a boycott of the Israeli universities and the call to deliver warrants for arrest for officers of Tsahal.
