Demography
History
It is probable that the ford of Yerres, located on the Roman Voie driving of Paris at Montereau, was at the origin of the first settlement of Yerres.History of Yerres, it especially is question in the old tourist guides as of the 18th century. If the Abbot Leboeuf, in his history of the Diocese of Paris (1883), in installation of the important stakes, beside other studies, no work complete were still published on this subject. Most of the old files being preserved at the Departmental records, the amateur will have to be satisfied with rather scattered knowledge. However Yerres, by its monuments (since the 12th century) and by the installation of the parks at the 19th century, conceals a Historical heritage worthy of interest. One of the reasons for attraction allotted in 1990 to this city by INSEE is natural curiosity. A cut plate of the two valleys of the Yerres and Midnight supper, with the quite exposed slopes, rich person of many sources, forms a marked relief (altitude of 30 m to more than 115 m). A long time, the grounds with Vine S, the Forest S and meadow S extending around the old village characterized the landscape yerrois to the paddle of the 20th century.
First lords
The whole of the low valley of Yerres was allotted by the kings mérovingiens to the large Parisian abbeys, which contributed to local development. The parish, initially dedicated to Saint Wolf is quoted at the 11th century.
