Yens is a common Suisse of the Canton of Vaud, located in the District of Morges.

Geography

Located halfway between the edge of the Lake Léman and the foot of the the Jura, the commune and the village of Yens appuyent themselves on a relatively sloping slope, which marks a change between the plain located in lower part (villages of Villars-under-Yens, Bussy-Chardonney and Denens) and that being in top (villages of After, Froideville and Ballens).

Whereas the bottom of the commune is quasi entirely covered with Vigne S (the commune of Yens having more wine large surface of the canton), which benefits from a beautiful exposure towards the south, one finds on the top of the commune one of the largest forests of the lemanic coast, which extends on several communes.

The village, installed on the slope, enjoys a release on the lake, the the Alps, and the Coast of Vaud in general. Formerly gathered in a compact space, the dwellings of Yens extend from now on towards the south, where is the station of the Railroad Beer-Apples-Morges, towards the east (districts of In Known-Vellaz and of Sang-Merloz) and towards the North-West.
