Yehuda Ben Meir
Yehuda Ben Meir (so known under the names Yehuda ha-Kohen and Judah of Mainz (Magenza) was a German Rabbin and a traveller of the end of the 10th century and beginning of the 11th century. Its book, Sefer ha-Dinim contains an account of its voyages and those of others Juifs of Eastern Europe. It quotes in particular Przemyśl and Kiev like commercial counters along the road radhanite.
The Yehuda rabbi was one of the principal teachers of Rabbenou Guershom, and its work very strongly influenced on the writings of Rachi. Yehuda was called, according to certain sources, " Léon" , " Léonte" , " Léontin" , " Lord Léon" and " Lord Léontin" and was indicated like " the grand" and " the sage" (gaon).
