Football
- 1831 . Publication in England de Reminiscences off Eton where a former student of famous College specifies that “football cannot be considered a sport of gentleman; after all, the small people of Yorkshire also play there… ”.
- 1835 . Act highway in Great Britain which prohibits the practice of football in the streets.
- 1835. The practice of drunk in Brittany is confined from now on with the only Country of Lorient where parts take place until 1914.
Gymnastic
- 1832 . Foundation in Switzerland of the Federal Company of Gymnastics.
- 1833 . Establishment of gymnasia in the military places of Metz, Strasbourg, Arras, Lyon, Montpellier, Rheims and Toulouse.
Play of palm
- 1839 . Closing in Paris of the last gaming room of palm (Street Mazarine).
Olympic Games
- 1832 . First edition of the Olympic Games of the Rondo in France. These local school sporting tests take place every four years during 120 years and will be determining for the restoration of the true Olympic appointment at the end of the century. The Olympic currency “Citius, altius, fortius” come besides from the OJ of the Rondo, set up by the small seminar of the Rondo in Dauphiné. - July 14th 1834. Behavior with Ramsola (Sweden) of the “Scandinavian Olympic Games” with fight, races, high jump and jump with the pole, in particular.
- July 14th 1836. 2nd edition of the “Scandinavian Olympic Games” with Ramsola (Sweden).
Water tournaments
- August 23rd 1830. The tournament of water tournaments which was to take place in Poissy is cancelled by the municipal authorities pretexting that they generated “quarrels and divisions between the inhabitants of Poissy. ”
- June 12th 1837. Tournament of water tournaments in Marseilles at the time of the marriage of the Duke of Orleans.
Lacrosse
- 1839 . Foundation in Canada of the first club not-Indian of lacrosse: Montreal Lacrosse Club.
Swimming
- June 30th 1837. Foundation in London of the National Swimming Society.
- August 1837. First races of swimming in London organized by the National Swimming Society.
General sports
- December 10th 1831. Publication with New York of the first number of the weekly magazine “The Spirit off Times” which very largely opens its columns with the sports. This first American sporting weekly magazine which also covers the cultural scene (opera, theater, music…) until in 1902 is published.
- 1831 : The word “sport” enters the German language.
Equestrian sport
- November 11th 1833. Foundation of the Jockey Club in Paris.
- June 24th 1835. First edition of the French horse-race of the Price of the Jockey-Club, in Chantilly.
- 1836 . First edition of the English horse-race of the Large National, in Maghull.
Veil
- 1838 . Foundation of the club of veil, the Company of the Regattas of Le Havre.
