Western Africa
- Before 1670: Fotigué, king of Ségou, with the head of an army Bambara, made up slaves, sappers and paddlers, invades the Mali. It seizes Djenné, then Macina and imposes a tribute on the descendants of the Hispano-Morrocans of Tombouctou.
- About 1670, the Bambara massani are raised against Fotigué which oblige them to flee towards the west. The chief of the dissidents, Sounsa, occupies Mourdia, then the provinces of Kaarta, the Khasso and the Bambouk. Fotigué, jealous of its power, the attack with its army and the fact of putting at death.
- a brother of Sounsa manages to restore its authority on the Kaarta and to found a dynasty which will reign on the area until the conquest of El-Hadj Omar, in the middle of the 19th century.

- agricultural Rise in Spain: replacement of corn by the barley in Murcie, of corn by rye in Castille, introduction of the Corn into the Atlantic zone (Galicia, Asturies).
- Portugal: Attempt at a policy of creation of manufacture, led by Shine of Meneses, count de Ericeira and Duarte Ribeiro de Macedo, ambassador in Paris.
