Events

  • the “Tyrany” of Charles Ier of England and the persecution of the puritans by Laud causes a large starting wave towards the America. Close to 20  000 English pass the Atlantic between 1630 and 1640. 500  000 people emigrate out of England between 1630 and 1700.

  • Mongolia: The Oïrat S are established, under the command of the Tchoros, in the valley of the Ili. According to the old administrative organization, Tchoros are called also Dzoungars (left wing). Towards 1630, some feudal oïrates, dissatisfied with the domination of Tchoros, emigrate in the area of low the the Volga with 50  000 or 60  000 men. A few years later, they are followed by the Torgout and the Kochot.

Art & Culture

  • First of the Cid in 1636, with the Theater of the Marsh. The public triumph of Corneille is accompanied by a sharp polemic, often called Querelle of Cid , which contributes to define the traditional Théâtre.

Economy & Company

  • Australia: on arrival of Europeans, the indigenous colonized all the biotopes of the Australian continent. They gather as well in wandering small groups, moving on thousands of km ² in the desert, as in large permanent villages in the richest areas. Their mode is very varied (larvae, Dugong, nut of Cycas, Kangourou S, oysters, eggs of tortoise, Igname S, fish, bat, moths…). Simple practices increase the natural productivity: rudimentary constructions of traps to capture fish on the coasts, channels dug to attract eels in the marshes of the interior, replanting of seeds and roots, denshering to open new spaces with the natural plants.
