- In 1620, " pilgrims fathers" , puritan English arrives to America and founds the first colony of what will become later the USA.

Of 1620 with 1630, Algiers, port barbaresque, receives 936 catches and the prisoners arrive per thousands. They are sold on the markets to the slaves. At the 17th century, their number would have reached 35 000 for the only town of Algiers. Some are used for domestic work or employment, but they are regarded more and more as a source of ransom. A good part is reforwarded towards the Europe to be there sold at prices more interesting than with the the Maghreb. This trade is with the hands of the Livournais or the Juifs.

Before 1620, the situation of the peasants in Bohemia is acceptable. The great fields develop, but with a paid personnel. After the Battle of the White Mountain, labor rarefies in Bohemia in consequence of the losses of war and the escapes, so that the new lords established in the country have recourse to the Corvée ( robota ). An ordinance of the king Ferdinand fixes the peasants at the ground. The reserve develops, mainly turned towards the corn export. The agricultural soil increases by clearings, the new fields being rented into precarious (beams of short duration). To the taxable quota and the drudgeries due to the lord are added the ecclesiastical dîme and the royal tax, extremely heavy since the Bohemia and the Moravie discharge between one the third and half of the royalties of monarchy. The Czech peasants develop auxiliary resources, like weaving in residence.
