- Stabilization of demography in Europe.
- 150 000 inhabitants with Paris. 20 000 inhabitants with Lyon.
- Expansion of the extraction of metals in Central Europe (Metalliferous Mounts, Bohemia, Carpates, the Alps). Of 1460 with 1530 the production quintuples for the money and copper, and quadruple for iron.
- the budget of the State under Louis XI of France exceeds the 100 tons of equivalent money (135 tons in time of war). The direct tax provides the majority of the funds to the detriment of the royal field.
- the economic policy of Louis XI tends, by a hundred instruments, “ to facilitate the trade and the productive life in general, to prevent the export of the noble metals, to hold to the French operators a well defined share of the traffic, to harm various enemies while acting on the exchanges”.
- the king profits from an excellent economic situation. The weight of the taxes can strongly increase (it triples in Anjou in twenty years) and remain bearable and tolerated.
- the army increases (the cavalry passes from 1 700 lances of four combatants with 4 000 lances at the end of the reign, is 16 000 combatants). The whole of the body of battle, in addition to the lancers, can go up in the event of war to 60 000 men. France has the first army of the world, equipped with modern guns.
