Italy: During all the 14th century and at the beginning of XVe, the communal republics leave the place to the aristocracy, either by respecting the constitutional forms as with Orvieto (1322), by instituting an emergency jurisdiction, the balia , or by a military takeover, as with Foligno, with often an outside assistance.
Economy & company
- Important development of the iron and copper, money, gold mines in the area of the Tatra (Slovakia) during the dynasty of Anjou (1301 - 1382). The king of Hungary has of it the monopoly via the mining royal Room of Kremnitz (Kremnica). The cities like Kaschau (Kosice) or Tyrnau (Trnava) receive important privileges and are managed by a German patriarchate dominating the Slovak craftsmen.

the Lithuania is feudalized. The large ones bind in a pyramid of obligations which leave the large-duke and monopolize vast domains in the conquered areas, transforming the Russian peasants into serfs. The cities develop while following the Polish example, i.e. by the action of merchants and German craftsmen.
