Ye or E (capital Е, tiny е) is a letter of the Cyrillic alphabet.
Linguistics
- In Bulgarian, Macedonian, Serb and Ukrainian, it is called E and represents a former higher Mid vowel nonround (/e/ in API) or a former lower Mid vowel nonround ().
- In Belorusse and Russian, it is called Ye and is a vowel palatalizing: it palatalizes the letter which precedes it. The sound which it represents is not on the other hand different from that met into Bulgarian or Ukrainian.
