Yazoo

Yazoo (or Yaz with the the United States) was a British Duo of new wave formed in April 1982 by Vince Clarke (founding member of Depeche Mode) and Alison Moyet, young person Punk ette with the voice Soul. Two young people had crossed their ways in 1981 in a pub where Allison played with its group whereas the participation of Vince in the future appearances of Depeche Mode was done already dubious. The duet is born officially with the beginning of the year 1982. In July 1983, after a few pieces which had a great radio operator success ( Don' T Go , Only You , Situation ), and two albums classified n°1 with the the United Kingdom, Vince and Alison separates at the time from the exit from their second album and announces the dissolution of the group, with the great surprise of the British.

While Vince Clarke has always enjoyed a solid success within the group Erasure for more than 20 years, Alison Moyet did not have this chance, in spite of some albums solo of obedience variety Soul and completely honourable Blues.

In 1983 the group The Flying Pickets made a Reprise again has cappella Only You which entered the charts and Don' T Go was samplé by the piece of House of Latino Party: Esta Loca . Since the end of the Years 1990, with the back in favor of the Years 1980, certain songs of Yazoo are the subject regularly taken again of remixs and by other artists, generally of the scenes Dance or Electro.

In 1999, the recording company Mute Records left a compilation gathering all the individual ones published by the group lasting its year existence (of 1982 to 1983), accompanied by some remixs giving them to the last style.
