Yautja
The Yautja are fictional creatures. They are the Extraterrestre S appearing in the film Predator and its continuations.
They are equipped with a warlike armament of point which exceeds the understanding of the protagonists of films, such as the characters played by the actors Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny Glover, which has only their musculature and their trick to oppose to them to ensure their heroic survival.
The creature
Known under the name of “Predator” ( Yautja in its own language), it is about a biped creature Humanoïde measuring approximately 2,5 m with an average weight, for the males, of 150 kg. Its weight is mainly made up of muscular mass and very little grease, because of its lifestyle and its mode of “predator”. The color of its skin generally yellow, is clouded with black spots. The color of the eyes is green or yellow. On his head, one can note the presence of what it would seem to be the equivalent of our hair, resembling " Dreadlocks " black.
Although the body of Yautja seems to be humanoïde in general, it is absolutely not the case of the facial part; that one could qualify “mutant crab”. Yautja has four prominent mandibles whose center is characterized by a small mouth furnished with small teeth. These mandibles are used in order to communicate; just like the dog uses its tail to evoke its mood. However, Yautja has also a verbal language (compound of growls, rattling and other sound effects). Moreover, the presence of vocal cords enables him to imitate all kinds of other languages until a certain degree.
Biologically, the Yautja is much stronger and rapid that will be to it never the mankind. It has a dexterity and reflexes out of the commun run. Its blood is green Phosphorescent, the characteristics of this blood makes it possible the Yautja not to fear the caustic effects of the blood of its preys. The directions of Yautja are developed much than those of the human ones; however, it is not known if the sense of smell belongs to the directions that has Yautja. It is of use which Yautja uses a very advanced technology in order to improve and to push to the maximum its directions. On the level of the environment, Yautja prefers being under hot and wet conditions with an atmosphere rich in nitrogen. There is not any doubt that is due to the living conditions of its planet of origin.
The lifespan of Yautja extends to several decades, being able to go up to 300 years. This longevity leaves suppose that the sons live with their mothers lasting of many years, time for them to learn how to only defend oneself. The girls probably remain with their mothers thereafter in order to raise their own children and to ensure the descent of the clan. These females give births approximately every decade. They do not exist family ties at the Yautja and the females often change partners, which inevitably involves a fight between the various males.
The males live in independent groups. In this atmosphere of competition, they fight in order to obtain the right to procreate. Many males do not obtain this right. These frustrated males can only excite the subordinates. In order to obtain this right, Yautja must drive out dangerous preys and bring back impressive trophies. The males drive out mainly to obtain the admiration of the females and the their elder ones. In spite of the common belief, Yautja civilization is adapted perfectly, which makes of Yautja a very civilized race.
The rite of hunting
The culture Yautja in general is founded on the concept of the drives out.
Contrary to human, the Yautja is a Nomade. Their culture turns around the concept of the hunting and the tracking of their preys. Very similar to our current mentality, the most effective member most extremely and is the leader of the clan; it is this member who controls the actions of the group.
The Yautja prefers to drive out dangerous preys as well as the other predatory ones, which could explain their preference for the human prey. Like rite of passage at the adulthood, each male Yautja involved for hunting (class of the Unblooded ) must drive out its first kainde amedha (“difficult meat”); these creatures are, commonly, of human or many Xénomorphes (Alien S). But attention, the choice of the preys is not done with the light one. The aliens are the perfect example: indeed, these creatures seen in the film Alien are preys extrement difficult to catch and kill. Moreover, in certain clans, the young males are taken along in a hostile place in order to drive out it.
The failure the " proof; kainde amedha" mean death, while the success with this test means that the “Unblooded”. Yautja must mark the face with the acid blood of Xenomorphic. This ritual makes it pass to the class of “Young blooded” (" young person sang"). This mark is also a symbol of respect and membership of a clan. Each mark specific to a clan and is only used by this group. This symbol perhaps used to differentiate the various vessels from the clans like recognizing these members at the time of the ceremonies; it is often marked on the mask of Yautja in addition to being on the faces of “Young Blooded”. “Young Blooded” are full with ambition and pride once they obtained their first trophy: the cranium of their prey. The hunter which has had this mark for several years can then pass to the higher class which is that of the “Blooded”.
While they can paraîtrent pitiless and brutal, the Yautja warriors act according to an ethical code, resembling the “Bushido Japanese” or with the Chevalerie because it supports courage, martial competence as well as fidelity with its group. The majority of Yautja do not drive out the creatures which they consider weak or without defense, if it is not by pure revenge.
Yautja are regarded as a higher race. Thus, they will never attack a disarmed or weak man. When it arrives on the ground, the prey of Yautja is, most of the time, preset.
The class of the “Warrior” (" guerriers")comprise Yautja which adheres completely to the beliefs and the codes. The “Warrior” become solitary hunters travelling of planet planets and using a state-of-the-art technology in order to find preys honourable like obtaining many trophies. Yautja pertaining to this class are very respected by the other members of the clan.
When Yautja shows of honor and mutual respect, that it has thousands of trophies to its credit, it is ready to reach the stage of “Elder”. The class of the “Elder” (or “old hand”) wisest and are respected of all; they are Yautja having lived longest, having survived thousands of hunting. They respect the other species and do not fear to prove their friendship by exchanging various trophies for example. If Yautja failed in the code of honor by assassinating another Yautja or as a combatant as an enemy, the “Elder” will have to deliver a combat to dead against this traitor. It happened that one day human belongs to a clan of Yautja. This woman fought at the side of another Yautja and saved the life to him, it was thus allowed as “a Young Blooded” and could adhere to the clan (in the film Alien vs. Predator).
With the foot of the scale, it there with the class of “Bad Bloods” (" bad sang"), they are Yautja having made crimes: such of the murders, dishonouring huntings, the flights of trophies, etc… If this Yautja is uncovered and seeks to flee rather than to undergo its punishment, there will be no remission. One then allows the class of the “Honored” (" honorés" : Yautja having obtained the most trophies) like with the class of the “Arbitrator” (" arbitre" : “Elder” having given up hunting with an aim of making respect the law as to force the rules of hunting on the Yautja community) to eliminate these traitors. “Bad Blood” are never saved. However, it happens that some of them escape, they is then banished forever and is condemned to wander in the galaxy by driving out any form of life, even other Yautja.
