Yarael Poof

Yarael Poof is a character of the Star Wars , member of the Conseil Jedi at the time of the battle of Naboo. In Star Wars: episode I - The phantom Threat ( Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Threatens ), it is " incarné" by Michelle Taylor.

Like all his congeneric, this native of Quermia has a long blow (very useful for the Quermien S in order to overhang the vegetation of their planet of origin), olfactive bodies located in the palm of the hand, a second pair of arm (easily dissimulated under an adequate behavior), a powerful heart and a brain located in his chest and not in his small brain-pan.

The Quermien S are also famous for their wisdom and their intelligence, Yarael Poof being a perfect example of the use advisedly of these two qualities. From the four Jedi working on behalf of the Order before the blockade of Naboo, it is indeed more shining and its connection with the Force is worth the admiration of its pars to him.

Invited to sit within the Council, Maître Poof is expressed there little but its perspicacity imposes the respect. True specialist in the techniques of meditation, it as well as uses these last into private during a confrontation and thus manages to put an end to a conflict without useless violences by forcing the belligerents to face their own anguishes. It is also able to project in the spirit of its adversaries of the terrifying mental images in order to destabilize them.

When Mace Windu informs the Jedi that the general Ashaar Khorda wishes to be avenged for the Republic (which prevented from seizing the power on Annoo) by striking a world such as Corellia, Alderaan or Coruscant using an artefact coming from the planet Seylott, Yarael Poof proposes to take care of the safety of the galactic capital.

It is among the lower levels of this one than Quermien discovers the object at the origin of the disturbance than it feels in the Force at the same time as the terrorists who prepare to use it. When it requires that Khorda go (a requirement relayed by the hunters of premium Zam Wesell and Jango Fett also launched to the continuation of the general félon), its opponents however open fire and oblige it to fight. Yarael Poof ends up recovering the artefact but whereas it is on the point of using the Force to neutralize it, Ashaar Khorda stabs it in full chest. Mortally wounded, the Jedi uses its remaining capacities then to make the machine inoffensive and it dies out with satisfaction to have saved Coruscant.

Funeral of this eminent Master one place in a room of the temple in the presence of the Council with large complete and of the three surviving Jedi quermiens, Mace Windu reminding this occasion that Poof carried out an exemplary life before dying by defending its ideals.
