Symbolic system of the will yantra

In the traditional symbolic system of the India, but as much at our time, the will yantra is a graphic support particularly appreciated Méditation, it is composed of proportioned geometrical signs whose centering points out the symbolic system of the Mandala S .

A will yantra is in general made of Triangle S, Carré S and overlapping Cercle S which, on the one hand, conveys conscious contents with the known significance and which, on the other hand, challenge the unconscious psychic structures directly.

The “ will shri-yantra especially” is famous: its point is directed to the top and the triangles ingeniously overlapping to the bottom re-examine with a philosophical pair of opposites; they are framed by sheets of lotus and cirsconscrits by concentric lines inside a broader square structure.

It is used more particularly for the meditation and it must lead, if one prepared in an adequate way psychologically there, to an acute feeling of detachment with respect to all the contingencies and of the free play of the mâyâ (metaphysical illusion).

Thus, each geometrical figure which composes them has its own significance:

the point, Bindu , energy, center
the equilateral triangle points to the bottom, Shakti Kona , female aspect, water
the equilateral triangle points to the top, Shiva Kona , male aspect, fire
the circle, Chakra , the air
the square, Bhupura , the ground
the flower of lotus, Padma , the purity
