Yann-Fañch Kemener

Yann-Fañch Kemener is a traditional singer Breton, born the April 7th 1957 with Holy-Perforator (Coast-with Armor).

Actor of the revival of the Kan ha diskan (song and counter-melody) in the Years 1970 and 1980, in particular with his comparse (and accomplice) Commercial Erik, it contributed to the perpetuation of the transmission of traditional songs by his activity of traditional singer but also in his activities of collecting of the local oral tradition and transmission of the Breton language.

Its various collaborations (within the group Barzaz but also with daN Ar Braz, Didier Squiban, Alain Genty, Aldo Ripoche, Anne Auffret…) and its singular stamp of voice made of him an emblematic figure of the Breton song.

It carried out many discs and sang in many festoù-noz.
