Yan and Bees

Yan and the Bees is a group of French Rock joined together around Jacky Vitet, said Yan. It is the principal one representing CRAC ( C hanson R ock has coustic C runchy), terminology which the group itself defined.

Course

Jacky Vitet is born in 1958. Teenager, it does not impassion himself for the studies and ends up being made transfer of his college. He saw then odd jobs, writes his first songs under the pseudonym of Yan and form the group Yan and the Bees by recruiting musicians in a music school. This first formation will last only a time but will record nevertheless an album, not marketed.

In 1992, Yan joins to the guitarist Tim Valdor. After a few months spent in the south-west of France, the duet settles in Paris and occurs in the bars, thus forging a solid reputation on scene and with the counter. January 16th 1995, following a hearing, the new formation of Yan and the Bees joined together around Yan and Tim finds at the head poster with the Olympia for one evening devoted to the French rock'n'roll. The first album, Apiarian Chansons leaves time little afterwards. A new version of the same album, increased few insane titles and entitled All of me… except mom! , is published the following year.

In 1999, all the talent of author of Yan is emphasized thanks to the album the round of the Slates , with the voluntarily stripped sound. For this album, Yan is surrounded by Frederic Rollat (future guitarist-singer of Karpatt) with the acoustic guitar, of Jerome Frulin with low and of Khalid Kharbichi with the percussions. The following year, Yan prepares the third album of the group with the assistance of the guitarist Florent Renoult. A new formation of Yan and the Bees is born and the album, heading Bleu Olivier , is recorded in November and December 2000. Unfortunately, this album, more succeeded of the group, will not leave living its author. Yan dies on August 23rd, 2001 of the continuations of an cardiac arrest.

May 6th 2002, a concert with the Européen in which took part inter alia Pierre Carré, Akli Dehlis, Karpatt, Albert Mesley, Las Patatas Espantadas, Sanseverino, Lord and the musicians of the various formations of Yan and the Bees made it possible to pay a last homage to Yan.
