Yahya ibn Asad

Yahya (death in 855) is a governor Samanide Shash (819 -855) and of Samarkand (851/852 -855). He was the son of Asad.

In 819 Nuh is seen entrusting the direction of the town of Shash by the governor of the Khorassan of Caliph Al-Ma' mun, Ghassan ibn “Abbad, rewards for it for its support against the Rafi rebel” ibn Laith. Following the death of his/her brother Nuh, who controlled Samarkand, Yahya and another of his/her brothers Ahmad see themselves entrusting the direction of the city by Abdallah, the governor of Khorassan. The capacity of Yahya on the city was significantly reduced thereafter by Ahmad, and it is supposed that it controlled in manner symbolic system until his death into 855. The line of Yahya was then supplanted by that of Ahmad.
