Yahoo! Questions/Answers

Yahoo! Questions/Answers (in English Yahoo! Answers ) is a collaboratif Community service in which the members propose answers to the questions raised by others. It is about a service of the gate Yahoo! which was launched in December 2005.

Principle

A member puts a question in a category (there are tens), the question is then open and the other members can propose each one an answer and also evaluate the other answers suggested. The author of the question can close constantly the question by choosing one of the answers as being the best to his opinion. If it does not do it, a vote is finally organized where each member can bring his voice to the answer which it considers the best.

Points and levels

In order to encourage the participation and to reward the best answers, Yahoo! Questions/Réponses integrates a system of points and levels. The number of points of a member depends on what it does. Although these points cannot be used nor exchanged, they make it possible to have an idea of the degree of implication and contribution of each member.
