Yéhouda Hay Alkalay
Yéhouda Hay Alkalay ( יהודהחיאלקלעי ) is famous a Rabbin XIXe century, cash among the first followers of the movement " Love of Sion " , and among the initiators of the " Return to Sion ".
It is born in 1798 in Yugoslavia. Child, it settles with Jerusalem where it studies.
In 1825, it turns over to Yugoslavia where it makes function of rabbi of the community Sépharade of Zemun (זמלין), suburbs of Belgrade, until in 1874. There, it becomes acquainted with the grandfather of Theodor Herzl and some think that it could be at the origin of the ideas Zionists of this one.
Then it goes back to Jerusalem and defends the following idea there: people, in waiting of the miracle of the Messiah redeemer, must undertake concrete actions for his delivery, and this by the installation on the Ground of Israel. He then composes a program detailed on the Jewish self-defense and the practice of the Hebrew language .
He dies in Jerusalem in 1879. In its memory, the town of Gold Yehuda, near of Tel-Aviv, bears its name.
