Yéhoshoua Ossovitzky

Yéhoshoua Ossovitzky ( יהושעאוסוביצקי ) is born in 1858 in Ukraine, and emigrates in Palestine in 1882.

With the vague 1e of Aliyah, Yéhoshoua Ossovitzky emigrates and becomes teacher of children survivors of pogroms and resulting from Mikvé-Israel. It is named with Rishon LeZion like representative of the interests of the baron Edmond de Rothschild. It works with the land acquisition in the area of Rishon LeZion and Beer-Touvia, with the financing of constructions and the plantation of vines. Ossovitzky must face the hostile mobilization of the farmers of Rishon LeZion, then passes to Metoula, delegated by the baron, for the acquisition of grounds intended for the establishment of the future village. Following internal tensions, it east dislocated its functions. Yéhiel Ossovitzky dies in 1905.
