In the Greek Mythology, Xouthos (in Greek old Ξοῦθος / Xoûthos , in Latin Xuthus ), wire of Hellen and the nymph Orséis, is king of Iolcos in Thessalie.
Driven out city by his brothers (Éole and Doros), it finds refuge with Athens. There, it Marie with Digs, girl of Érechthée, of which it has Ion, Achaïos and Diomède (to which one adds sometimes Aiclos and Clothos). Become influential within the city, it supports Cécrops for the succession of Érechthée, before being isolated capacity and condemned to the exile.
Euripide, in its part Ion , gives a version rather different from its relationship: wire of Éole, he would be the father of Doros but not Ion (which Créüse would have conceived of Apollon).
