Xochitepec

Xochitepec is a municipio Morelos with the Mexico.
Xochitepec ( will cabecera municipal ), Atlacholoaya, Chiconcuac, Alpuyeca, Real del Puente and Unidad Morelos are the principal localities.

Origin of the name

Xochitepec comes from the Nahuatl: Xochitl = " fleur" and Tepetl = " montagne" thus: " in the mountain of the flowers of Casahuate".
The trade pulled by the main road of Mexico City to Acapulco ( el Camino Real ) involved the disappearance of the rich person indigenous culture who existed previously in this place.

History of Xochitepec

Tlahuicas are the first ethnicity having lived with Xochitepec. Xochitepec is mentioned for the first time at the XVIe century in the Codex Moctezuma.
