Xinwei

The xinwei , or hin-wei (Chinese traditional and simplified: zh-Hant 辛未; Pinyin: xīnwèi ) is the eighth element of the sexagesimal Cycle Chinese. It is preceded by the Gengwu and is followed by the Renshen .

With the celestial Tige xin is associated the Yin and the element Métal, and with the terrestrial Branche wei , the Yin, the element Ground, and the sign of the sheep. In the symbolic system of the five elements, the xinwei thus corresponds to the “ground which gives rise to metal. ”
