Xhol Caravan
Xhol Caravan , initially known under the name Soul Carvan then finally under the name Xhol was one of the first groups took part in the launching of the movement Krautrock in Germany. Their music was the combination of varied kinds which makes it difficult to classify.
Their beginnings, Xhol Caravan combined elements of Rhythm and drunk blues and .
Their first album, Get In High , left in 1967 on the label CBS whereas the group was still called Soul Caravan , was the synthesis of music drunk person and psychedelic music.
Their second opus, Electrip , left two years later, in 1969, on the Hansa label, whereas the group had changed name and was called from now on Xhol Caravan .
It is as from this moment that they started to find their own style: an original fusion of Free jazz, Rock'n'roll psychedelic and electronic experiments.
Very dynamic, their jazz rock'n'roll can be compared with the spirit of the drunk person psychedelic of Soft Machine. However, their unusual use of instruments and electronic sonorities made them a truly single group.
After Electrip , Xhol Caravan continued its musical adventure with the exit of two albums of free jazz rock'n'roll, on the label Ohr/Metronome and with a new name: Xhol .
hau-RUK is a whole of electronic improvisations jazz. Their last album studio, Motherfuckers GMBH & Co. KG , recorded in 1970 left only in 1972. One finds there a fusion of Blues, of Krautrock and of Jazz but it is less accessible, more " cosmique" and more avant-gardist that his predecessors.
