Xerostomia

The xerostomia is a state of dryness of the mouth, related to a lack of Salive.

Causes

The causes can be:
  • Drug euse (drugs of the nervous system central, anti-hypertenseurs, anti-migraineux the, atropiniques ones…)
  • an hangover or a consumption of Cannabis
  • bad oral hygiene, unsuited prostheses
  • dysfunction of salivary glands.
  • Syndrome of immunizing Goujerot-Sjögren
  • dysfunction (AIDS…)
  • diabetes
  • renal problems
  • the consequence of a radiotherapy (for cancer of the aéro-digestive ways)
