The Xaxi Ardia known as small Manech is a Franco-Spanish ovine race of the Basque Country. It is called Sasi Ardi Spanish side.
Origin
It is resulting from the family of the ovine races of the Pyrenees with falling wool. It is high in the Western part of the chain of the the Pyrenees.Son name means out of Basque, ewe of " broussailles". It is a race recognized recently, following the request of stockbreeders holding a not indexed race of manech. Manpower in France are 500 animals and 1500 in Spain. The herds are high in pure race.
Morphology
It carries a long and white wool which hangs. Its head and its legs are pigmented of russet-red wheat. The ewe measures 60-65 cm and weighs of 35-40 kg. The ram measures 65-70 cm for 40-50 kg.
Aptitude
It is a rustic ewe, high only at the natural state.
