Xasax quartet

The Quartet XASAX , together of saxophones flexible , is a Quatuor of saxophones founded in 1992, and composed of Marcus Weiss (soprano), Pierre-Stephan Meugé (viola), Jean-Michel Goury (tenor) and Serge Bertocchi (baritone).

The quartet is implied particularly in the creation and the diffusion of the contemporary repertory . Xasax does not limit to the traditional formation soprano/viola/tenor/baritone, and is opened with all the combinations of instruments which the family of the saxophones offers, as the subtitle Ensemble saxophones flexible implies it.

Their repertory is not limited either to the contemporary, they revisit the Art of the running away, the repertory of the Ars subtilior or the Ars Nova The quartet is also interested in the Jazz and the impromptu musics, through work of type-setters like Barry Guy or John Zorn.

As anecdote, XASAX is a Palindrome.
