Xaos

XaoS is a Free software under license GNU LPG which plunges us in the universe of a Fractale. It was written to observe the particular beauty of these mathematical formulas from a graphic point of view.

Description

XaoS makes it possible to observe different fractales: the Together of Mandelbrot, by associating each point with the Together of Julia corresponding, like several derived units: those of Newton, Barnsley, and several fractales current (Magnet, Octal, Phoenix,…).

XaoS offers many possibilities, of which:

To color the various areas according to parameters varied, giving appearance very varied to the same unit.
To define various palettes
To post the fractales in different plans, defined by relations between the parameters (driven, 1/mu, lambda,…)
To modify the iteration count used for calculations of limits, in order to improve the precision for certain images.
To apply filters to the image (to post only the " lines of niveau" , a pseudo 3D, effects of relief, antialiasing, or motion blur for animations)

XaoS dissociates in particular other design software of fractal by its very simple use, thanks to displacements with the mouse, and by its language of script which makes it possible to identify certain positions inside the fractales, or to create animations starting from the various mathematical objects present.
