X Window Display Manager
XDM (in long version X Window Display Manager ), is the Gestionnaire of posting by defect of the system of window X ( X Window System ).
Description and use
XDM is appeared as a simple dialog box, without the list of users, contrary to KDM. XDM is very simplistic, basiquement, it is a white box with two fields, for the login, and the other for the password. To open a session, it is enough to select its user and to enter his password. It does not make it possible to choose the manager of windows which one wishes to use.
The appearance of XDM can be improved thanks to XBanner, a utility making it possible to define a bottom of screen, to post a welcome message, etc
