X 72500
The X 72500 are Autorails so called " X TER". They FOR THE THIRD TIME ensure of the services and interregional (TIR) by serving the not electrified zones.
Description
The oars X 72500 are of two types:- elements with two cases (two motor coaches) built with 90 specimens.
- elements with three cases (a motor coach, a trailer, a motor coach) built with 15 specimens.
The oars are couplables between them to 3 elements.
They are been driven by an engine MAN 6 cylinders of 300kW by driving axle. A motor coach includes/understands two driving axles, each oar includes/understands two motor coaches, that is to say a total of 1200 kw. The transmission is ensured by one limps hydraulic Voith. The maximum speed ensured by this chain of traction is of 160 km/h.
In order to ensure the operation of the auxiliaries (lighting, air-conditioning, order of the doors, etc) each case includes/understands a Generator (Perkins/Mecalte) of 135 kw.
The Freinage is ensured by a system of mechanical disc brake coupled to a hydrodynamic brake. It is ordered by means of the manipulator of traction.
The driver's cab, centered in the cabin, was designed to facilitate the work of the driver. It comprises the elements besides making it possible to ensure the service in agent alone as well as system ATESS, a recorder of parameters of road more complete than those existing before. The whole of the management of the machine is ensured by an embarked computing system. The breakdowns can be diagnosed by this one (when it is not him even except service…).
The phase of fiabilisation of these rail-cars was particularly long besides, which is worth a bad reputation still today to them. On this subject, two operations of return in factory took place:
- Rétrofit 1, of 1998 with mid- 1999, aimed at of the modifications of safety and the installation of new version of the embarked computing system;
- Rétrofit 2, of mid- 1999 at end 2000, where more than 200 modifications were brought, primarily on the level of the comfort of the travellers.
In 2006 of the recurring problems still exist on the level of the generators.
Service
Towards 1990, following the regionalization and with the development of FOR THE THIRD TIME, a need for renewal of the park Autorail appeared. There existed also a request towards a new type of rail-car capable of a true versatility: at the same time a good top speed to ensure of the services long distance and strong capacities of acceleration for the local service roads.
The project is launched in 1991 by Maurice Dousset president of the Région Centers at the time, within the framework of the development of the FOR THE THIRD TIME Center. The schedule of conditions of this rail-car was besides the first to integrate the will of the areas. A design pointing out that of TGV as well as a good comfort level was required in order to encourage the rail-bound transport.
Ordered by 12 areas with 105 specimens starting from 1994 (90 bicaisses, 15 tricaisses) at the company Alstom, X 72500 will be delivered of 1997 to 2000.
The first oars delivered in 1997 were it for the Center area, initiating project, which put them in business service on September 28th on the line Paris-Austerlitz/Châteaudun/Tours to replace the X 2200.
In March 1999 the first elements tricaisse were brought into service on the relation broad outlines Paris-Granville.
Since the first deliveries, in spite of the youth problems, of the complementary orders were carried out carrying the park with 117 elements. The area the Rhone-Alps also wished to modify its park of elements, initialements bicaisses, in version tricaisse by the purchase of 15 intermediate trailers.
