motorized Oar twin-engine of 2 vehicles coupled (driving + trailer) also called Oar with Large Course ( RGP 2 ).

Like many old series of Rail-car, this first version of the RGP is been driven by 2 engines. The series directly derives in fact (case and motorization) from the X 2400, with the engine Renault 517.

It will be increased to 140 km/h for the versions (X 2721 with X 2738) equipped with engine SACM/MGO of 825 ch. Ce are derivative of these last (X 2771 to 2781) which constituted the first oars Trans-Europ-Express train in 1957. (paragraph to defer on the page of the X 2720 and X 2770)

Its decoration of origin comprised a yellow top of case straw and a bottom of case green clearly separated by a snap ring aluminum. These colors were worth with the oar the name familiar of “ green Lizard ”.
