X 2400

The X 2400 are a series of old Autorail S of the SNCF. The XABDP 2400, known as unified 600 ch with 79 specimens left construction of 1951 to 1955. They count 12 places of 1ère and 56 of 2nde class, are long of 27  m and capable of a maximum speed of 120  km/h. These rail-cars have the capacity to be harnessed with coupled trailers or .

The series of the rail-cars X 2400 was brought into service on the railway network at the sides of the X 3800 known as Picasso . These rail-cars of 300 horses will facilitate the disappearance of the steam traction and to renew the growing old park of rail-cars. The series was, with its startup, Limoges and placed in service on the lines of the Massif Central, coupled with trailers XR 8000. X 2400 were quickly accompanied by the series of the rail-cars X 2800 been driven by only one engine, but more powerful.

The cost of maintenance of X 2400 was quite higher than that of the X 2800 been driven by an engine and the series was transferred to the deposit of Rennes. The arrival of the X 2100 and the X 2200 in the years 1980 made it possible to begin the setting in retirement from the series up to 1989.

X 2464 was withdrawn from the series in 1988 to be modified out of machine of measurement of electrical installations. It covered delivered the Coral containing dark gray, of orange and white with installation of cartridges of machine of measurement. More than one ten specimens were safeguarded.

There exist two under-series of X 2400:
