McDonnell XF-85 Goblin was a project of hunter intended to be embarked in the compartment of a B-36, in order to be able to provide an escort of hunting to the bomber. (Hunter Project parasitizes)

Development

McDonnell received a ordering of USAF for a Hunter parasite, which can be embarks in the compartment of a bomber B-36. Modified B-36 was to be able to carry up to three XF-85 Goblin.

A small hunter (Length 4,50m with a scale of 6,40 m) was develops around a Réacteur Westinghouse J34-WE-7.

The plane did not have train of atterissage and was to come to cling to a trapezoid rectractable located under the carrier aircraft at the end of the mission.
