X-Treme X-Men
The X-Treme X-Men are a team of mutants of the family of the X-Men which decided to operate far from other X-Men to seek the notebooks written by conspicuous the Destinée before its death. Written and created by Chris Claremont, the series was published by Marvel Comics. El Salvador LaRocca drew the first twenty episodes, before Igor Kordey succeeds to him. It continued however to draw the covers until the oddment.
In 2001, whereas it was in load of the writing of the scenarios of the two series X-Men and Uncanny X-Men , Chris Claremont was withdrawn from the two titles per decision of the principal editor Joe Quesada. Following the protests of the fans and the author himself, one then proposed the creation of a third title, whose Chris Claremont would have the load. Thus was born X-Treme X-Men , series in which were continued the intrigues which had been developed before in the two other titles.
The series introduced three new mutants, Vargas, Lifeguard and Slipstream, and was marked by the death of Psylocke (today ressucitée).
In 2004, following the departure of Grant Morrison of New X-Men , the leading line was again changed, and X-Treme X-Men was cancelled, while Chris Claremont turned over to the writing of Uncanny X-Men , where it reinstated the members of X-Treme X-Men in the Xavier Institute.
