Wyomia Tyus
Wyomia Tyus , born the August 29th 1945 in Georgia, is old a American Athlète and the first woman has to defend her title of the 100 m successfully.
Tyus took part in the Olympic Games of summer of 1964 at the 19 years age. In series, it equalizes the world records of Wilma Rudolph, thus becoming like favorite final, its principal rival being her compatriot Edith McGuire. Tyus gained the final, McGuire leaf of two tenth. With the same plays, it still gained a money medal with the relay 4x100 Mr.
The following years, Tyus gained many national titles and a gold medal with the Pan-American Jeux on 200 Mr. In 1968, it went to the Olympic Games to defend its title. Into final, it establishes new world records and became the first woman victoriously to defend the Olympic title on 100 Mr. It was also qualified for the finale of the 200 m which it finished in the sixth place. Relayeuse last of the 4x100 m American, it gained a new gold medal with new world records.
It withdrew competition after these plays of 1968.
